The desk for what’s on in town.

Yoocal is the local calendar for a resort town or a lake town. A visitor sorts the next few hours. A local finds the week that is actually theirs. A host pays to put one night in front of those people.

The fifty-character line: Local calendar for resort and lake towns.

That line is 41 characters, including the period. The product is live at yoocal-2026.pages.dev/new-home-1. This site is the company packet: scope, year, market, model, and the Y Combinator application.

Three jobs, one screen

The product is the decision, then the placement.

Visitor

You landed, or you have a Saturday. You need today or this weekend, morning or late, free or ticketed, kids or a night out. You mark Going, name a list, and send it.

Local

You live through the season. You want the library hour, the park concert, and the price that is not only for visitors. Free and Community are your desk.

Host

You run a restaurant, an inn, a festival, a marina, or a library night. A basic listing is free. Featured is $0.99 a day. Partner Sponsor is $9.99 a day with a reach report.

How the whole thing works

Five parts, every day.

PartWhat happensWhere it stands
1. CatalogA daily pass gathers the public calendars for the live towns and publishes them. This product reads that feed. The desk is full before a host signs up.Live
2. DeskSearch, today, weekend, time of day, free, and a feeling. Tonight, Coming up, and a month where each day has a count. Summer says “Outside first.” Winter says “Après the lifts.”Live
3. PlanInterested, Going, a named itinerary, a share link, and a calendar file. Signed in, it sits on the account. Signed out, it stays in the browser.Live
4. HostSubmit a listing for editorial review. Order Featured or Partner by the day. The ticket and the guest price stay with the organizer. The order is recorded. A card is not charged yet.Partial
5. Next townForty-three more desks can open without a dead page. They stay off the live homepage until a beachhead town is dense. An announced town is never a 404.Held

Where we start

One corridor, one twin, two lakes.

Park City, Heber Valley, and Midway are one Wasatch trip. Jackson Hole is the same mountain pattern in another state. Elkhart Lake and Green Lake prove the desk in a summer lake town, including the long quiet winter.

The year in one pass

The headline follows the town.

Mountains have two seasons. Lakes have one busy season and a long quiet one. The full month-by-month is on the year.

May–October

Outside first. Hikes, markets, water, festivals, wine, race weekends, concerts on the grass. Shade, seating, and weather before anyone commits.

November–April

Après the lifts in the mountains: a table, music, a warm room, and in January a public festival list with invite-only left alone. On the lakes, the line is the quiet season, not a ski story.

Money, stated as a plan

The guest does not pay. The host pays for attention.

Featured is $0.99 a day. Partner Sponsor is $9.99 a day. A weekend trial is the price of a coffee. The company gets large by copying a dense desk into more towns, not by taking the ticket.

If 25 hosts in each of 6 towns buy 40 featured days, that is about $5,940 a year. If 8 hosts in each town buy 90 partner days, that is about $43,200. Together that beachhead plan is about $49,000. It is a proof, not a business. Forty dense towns at a partner-heavy mix is the plan past the proof, on the model page, with every assumption labeled.

What has to become true

Three behaviors in the same town.

  1. A visitor plans a weekend on it and opens it again on the next trip.
  2. A local uses Free and Community on an ordinary week.
  3. A host orders a second featured run because the night was seen.

Those three numbers are not measured yet. The packet treats them as the scoreboard. Midway at zero listings is the open hole in the beachhead.

Next build

Charge the host order. Fill Midway. Count a repeat in Park City.

The desk, the plan, and the prices are in the product. The card charge, the empty town, and the retention number are the work that makes the pitch true.
